Tignes is located in the Savoie department of France, and within the huge Espace Killy ski area which it shares with the resort of Val d'Isere. Tignes is made up of 5 separate villages, ranging in altitude from 2,100 meters above sea level, down to 1,500 meters, though you can ski on trails well above 3,000 meters, which makes proper snow a certainty. Getting to Tignes
Tignes is easy to get to, with great transportation links to Lyon, Grenoble and Chamberry (France), and Geneva (Switzerland), giving more options for those wishing to fly. Most UK school groups will fly into Geneva, with a transfer time of about 3 hours.
