The mountain is a short drive from the city and features 71 different ski trails and the whole mountain experience you rarely get in Europe - certainly plenty to keep you entertained during your school ski trip. An added highlight, something that is becoming more popular in ski resorts worldwide, is the availability of night skiing. Artificial lights floodlight some of the main trails, giving your students a unique experience.
Getting to Mont-Sainte-Anne
The ski resort of Mont-Sainte-Anne is just 30 minutes drive from the heart of French speaking Quebec City, though you are likely to fly into Montreal and transfer from there.
For beginners
On arrival you will head to the equipment shop at the base of the mountain to get kitted out. From here the mountain looms large, yet most of the runs on this left side of the southern face are black diamond runs. Over to the right is the domain of the beginner skier, with the enjoyable La Familiale run starting at the 800m summit and descending all the way down to the resort village.
Mont-Sainte-Anne also has 2 great snow parks which offer skiing and snowboarding for any students who wish to try their hand at freestyle. Even if you haven't skied before, there is a dedicated beginner park.
Ski tuition is great quality here at Mont-Sainte-Anne, the Canadian teaching standard is highly regarded world wide, indeed plenty of British students train as ski and snowboard instructors in Canada so that they can achieve the CSIA award.
Mont-Sainte-Anne accommodation
There is ski in ski out accommodation in the resort of Mont Sainte Anne, and most schools stay in the heart of the resort to get the full ski resort atmosphere. Nearby Quebec has a population of over half a million people, there are amenities aplenty and it is easy enough to make the 30 minute drive into the city for a meal or some sightseeing.
