Why is Sunday River a good ski resort for school groups?
Sunday River is one of our favourite American ski resorts for school trips to the United States, benefiting from great facilities in resort, and ski options for school groups that would rival many European resorts. The area is comprised of several different peaks, each of which offers its own unique style of skiing.
One of the most popular ski areas in the Eastern half of the USA, Sunday River boasts a genuine ski resort atmosphere. There are plenty of entertainment options for your school group, and you will love the resort accommodation here.
Getting to Sunday River
School groups will fly into Boston and transfer to the Sunday River resort in around 4 hours.
For beginners
Most school groups are comprised of first time skiers and for that reason the South Ridge base area is the place to head for. Here you will find lots of wide and gentle beginner friendly trails, many of which are illuminated at night, allowing you to fit in plenty of time on the slopes each day!
Once you've progressed enough to leave the magic carpet and bunny slopes behind, chairlifts can take you to good skiing lower down on White Cap, on Spruce Peak and on North Peak.
Sunday River accommodation
Hotels, Inns and Condominiums are in good supply and there are also a few slope side options available for ski-in ski-out enthusiasts. Sunday River is a good size resort and your group's accommodation is likely to be within walking distance of the resort hub.
